Cuordilava Dolce&Gabbana & Donnafugata – Etna Rosso DOC Sicilia
Cuordilava is a red wine that expresses the volcanic personality of its land of origin, the result of the collaboration between Dolce&Gabbana and Donnafugata. This wine represents the quality of mountain viticulture on the slopes of Mount Etna.
Production area
Produced in eastern Sicily, on the northern side of Mount Etna, Cuordilava is made at the estate in the municipality of Randazzo and in other particularly suitable areas. The volcanic soils, at an altitude between 600 and 750 m above sea level, offer a continental climate with Mediterranean influences, characterized by harsh winters and strong day-night temperature fluctuations. Below-average rainfall favors the ripening of the grapes.

100% Nerello Mascalese, the indigenous variety that is the symbol of Mount Etna.
Vineyard
The Etna bush vine (alberello) and cordon spur training systems are characteristic of Cuordilava. Many vineyards are cultivated on terraces supported by dry stone walls of lava rock, ensuring variable planting density and controlled yields to guarantee quality and aromatic concentration.
Winemaking
Manual harvesting involves careful selection of the grapes in crates. In the cellar, sorting takes place on a vibrating table, followed by destemming and fermentation in steel with maceration at controlled temperature.
