The Barbera Baglio delle Saline DOP Extra Virgin Olive Oil from the Trapanesi Valleys offers a golden yellow color with delicate green reflections. "Manfredi Barbera & Figli SpA" is a renowned olive oil producer, recognized internationally for the excellence of its products. Their production takes place according to the highest quality and food hygiene standards, guaranteed by important international certifications such as ISO 9001, ISO22005:2007, BRC certificate (British Retail Consortium) and IFS Certificate (International Food standards).

The company's main headquarters are located in Palermo, in via Emerico Amari, and in 2003 they inaugurated a modern production plant in Custonaci, a splendid sunny location in the province of Trapani.

Modern and technologically advanced factory

The new factory is equipped with cutting-edge technologies and is divided into three operational areas: a storage area, an experimental crusher and a warehouse. The finished product storage warehouse is temperature-controlled and can contain up to 7,000 quintals of oil, kept under nitrogen to protect it from oxidation. Next to the storage area there is a packaging room, with four fully automated lines for bottling the oil into bottles, cans and ceramics. Even in this phase, the use of nitrogen is essential to guarantee maximum integrity of the product and its optimal preservation over time.

The experimental oil mill, one of a kind in the world, is housed in the second building. This revolutionary plant focuses on experimentation to constantly improve the quality of the oil produced. All the olive preparation phases, from selection to cleaning and crushing, take place in an external area to keep the internal environment in which the crushing, the most delicate phase, takes place completely uncontaminated.

As regards crushing, the company has four different olive pressing systems: disc crushing, hammer crushing, opposing stone roller crushing and pitting. Finally, the third building, with a constant temperature of 18°C all year round, is intended for storing the finished product and packaging.

CHARACTERISTICS

Coming from the best olive groves of the "Trapanesi Valleys", this extra virgin olive oil is of great value, obtained through a soft pressing of olives of the "Biancolilla", "Cerasuola" and "Nocellara del Belice" varieties. The result is a product with a hazy appearance, a delicate aromatic smell and a medium fruity flavor with an aftertaste of tomato and wild mint.

CULTIVAR: 80% Cerasuola, 10% Biancolilla, 10% Nocellara del Belice.

AREA OF ORIGINA: Western Sicily.

ALTITUDE OLIVE GROVE: Hill.

COLLECTION TECHNIQUE: Hand picking.

EXTRACTION SYSTEM: Pressing within 24 hours of harvesting, extraction with a continuous cycle system, natural decanting and decanting.

FILTERING: Using natural sheets.

AROMA: Herbaceous scent with persistent aromatic notes.

TASTE: Medium fruity with hints of green tomato and wild mint.

I WAIT: Golden yellow oil with green reflections.

USE: Ideal with fresh cheeses, bruschetta and salads.
